Executive Assistant to an Hon’ble MLA, West Bengal Legislative Assembly [2023]
- Assisted in preparing questions and comments for Assembly Sessions.
- Managed communication on behalf of the office with various institutions such as government organisations, local councillors, other MLA offices, colleges in the constituency, and the likes.
- Assisted fellow executive assistants, as well as members of other teams, in miscellaneous administrative tasks for the efficient functioning of the office across the multiple professional roles held by the Hon’ble MLA.
Urivi Vikram Charitable Trust (as a Field Staff at Tihar Central Prison, New Delhi) [2018]
- Conducted an initial assessment of inmates based on their childhood and familial backgrounds; as well as their criminal and general behavioural history.
- Assisted Life Skills trainers in training enrichment, case studies, observation, and documentation.
National Human Rights Commission, New Delhi [2017]
- Submitted a co-authored report on “Paris Principles and NHRIs”.
- Was mostly involved with the research division in going through the case files, and with talking to complainants and assisting them accordingly.
District Legal Services Authority, South 24 Parganas, West Bengal [2017]
- Gained a first-hand insight into the implementation, and challenges of legal services in the district, and the relevance of the DLSA.
- Spent the days in various courtrooms so as to make a keen observation of various court proceedings and practices.
- Visited the Alipore Central Correctional Home to understand why it is crucial for prison programmes to “ensure to them their human rights even by lawfully curtailing their liberties”.
- Visited the CWC and JJB in the district, the Sanlaap Home for Girls, and the Institute of Psychiatry at the S.S.K.M. Hospital to take note of the character and purpose of these institutions, and the role of DLSA therein.

- Reviewed case files and suggested further possible course of action in each case.
- Regularly followed-up with the concerned authorities as well as with the complainants with regard to each of the cases we reviewed.

These field visits helped us gain insight into the practical details of the functioning of all the three criminal justice institutions. Most importantly, they changed our unilateral perceptions of the distinct roles ascribed to every such functionary and about legal procedures in general. They further aided us to develop an unbiased idea about the police as law-protectors, the court officials as law-enforcers and the prisons as corrective institutions.
Shakti Vahini, New Delhi [2016 & 2017]
- Learnt about the work done by the NGO, especially about their raid and rescue operations.
- Visited the ChildLine Counter and the Police Station at Anand Vihar Railway Station to get an insight into why and how such places are commonly used as transit points by traffickers and about the challenges of preventing such transits.
- Visited their Centre for Target Intervention Project designed for supporting sex workers at G.B. Road, in collaboration with the Delhi State Aids Control Society and the Indian Medicine Development Trust.
